Signature Events

MCAD is responsible for some of the city's biggest signature events that are host to thousands of people annually. Events include the Chalk the Block Public Arts Festival held in the month of October, the WinterFest which kicks off in November and runs through January, and our year-round Downtown Art & Farmers Market.

Events include the Chalk the Block Public Arts Festival held in the month of October, Dia de los Muertos held later in the fall, and The Market, which moves to the Downtown Arts District during festival season and is located in Northeast El Paso the rest of the year.

Art in the Park

On Saturday, May 6th, and Sunday, May 7th, 2023 the City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD) in partnership with the City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department will host the Annual Art in the Park event happening inside the Memorial Park Reserve. Art in the Park is a staple event in Central El Paso boasting the longest-running art market. This event provides an opportunity for the community to experience the talent and quality of our local artists and artisans. The community can enjoy live music, local food & art vendors, and workshops for the entire family.

Saturday, May 6th: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
Sunday, May 7th: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

The Art & Farmers Market

Established in 2011, the market offers original arts and crafts, food vending, regionally grown agricultural products, artisans, regional farmers and live entertainment from local artists.

Chalk the Block

Chalk the BlockChalk the Block takes over downtown El Paso in October. Applications for artists, musicians, artisan vendors and food trucks will open next summer. In 2019, 48,000 people enjoyed the region's largest public art festival in downtown El Paso. Each year, about 200 local, national and international artists from all disciplines participate at CTB creating a fun, quirky and diverse environment for people of all ages to enjoy. The event features: Temporary interactive art installations, live dance and theatrical performances, a sidewalk chalk art competition, live bands, art and food vendors.
