Opportunities
There are many opportunities available for artists of all disciplines within our department from funding for events and artists to performance opportunities for musicians and dancers. MCAD will periodically have opportunities for people to work with the department as volunteers, docents or teaching artists. Please check back often as many of these opportunities will have deadline applications.
Please be aware of the application due dates. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Volunteering
Museum of Art – The El Paso Museum of Art regularly recruits to be part of its docent program. Docents are volunteer gallery educators who lead gallery tours for various audiences, including students and adults. Potential docents should be comfortable around people of all ages, enjoy teaching, and be able to commit to leading tours for one year following training. Docents play a critical role in making the museum welcoming and enjoyable.
EPMA provides all docents with introductory and ongoing training in art, art history, and teaching. Previous experience or knowledge of art is not necessary. For more information, please contact [email protected].
Museum of History – The El Paso Museum of History is currently recruiting volunteer tour guides. Volunteers will help lead tours of the Museum of History. You don't need a background in history, but an interest and desire to learn more about the history of the area is desired. For more information, please visit the El Paso Museum of History website.
Museum of Archaeology - The El Paso Museum of Archaeology focuses on the prehistory of the El Paso/Juárez region. EPMArch is always looking for volunteers and interns to assist at the museum, including docents who will be trained to lead tours. For more information, please visit the El Paso Museum of Archaeology website.
Mexican American Cultural Center - The El Paso Mexican American Cultural Center is always looking for energetic and motivated volunteers. The MACC provides a variety of opportunities for individuals interested in engaging with signature events, docent-led tours, and more. For more information, please visit the Mexican American Cultural Center website.
